PE & Games
Physical Education and games can lay the foundations for a long and healthy life especially if presented as an enjoyable experience. Here at Boundary Oak all children take part in P.E. lessons every week, which include dance, fitness, gymnastics and swimming.
Team games are important for the development of social interaction. There are two games afternoons each week together with Saturday morning fixtures, often matches played against local prep and local schools. No-one is excluded from our team games whatever their ability. If they wish to play they can. Our house-system, too, promotes much friendly inter-house rivalry.
All sports facilities are contained within the school premises. We are particularly fortunate in having a heated open-air swimming pool.

In autumn the boys play soccer
and rugby while the girls play netball. In the spring
it is rugby and hockey for the boys while for the girls
it is netball and hockey. The summer sees the boys
playing cricket and taking part in athletics and the
girls participating in rounders and, similarly, athletics.
Our overall philosophy here is for everyone to be active, get involved and, most importantly, have fun. |
