BOSS
The aim of the Boundary Oak School Society (BOSS) is to advance the education and well being of the pupils at Boundary Oak School. In practice this usually involves buying equipment and other items for the school that would not normally be purchased. We call it the ‘icing on the cake’. Whilst we have no direct say in the running of the school we work closely with the staff to identify and meet their requests.
To do this the committee runs a number of ingenious and enjoyable fundraising events from balls to beetle drives. These events not only raise money for the school but also encourage everyone to join in and get to know other parents at the school. Involvement can range form simply supporting events, helping or as a fully-fledged committee member.
Becoming a committee member is easy. Year representatives are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in October each year. You may chose to job share with another parent and there are usually 3 or 4 meetings a term. If committees are not for you we are always keen to have volunteers to help with events.
The 200 Club is Boundary Oak’s own lottery. Prizes vary from £10 up to £100 for a small annual fee to join. Half the money raised is given away in prizes and the other half goes to BOSS.
