Boarding

Boarding at Boundary Oak is a homely affair. Live-in houseparents work alongside resident staff while Matron and gap students ensure that the children are happy and comfortable. Dormitories are split up into age-groups to cope with different bed-times.

Children need to be kept busy. Frequent fun evening events ensure their interest and during the summer months we make the most of the School grounds with barbecues, cricket matches, treasure hunts and use of the heated outdoor pool. In winter we make full use of the games room, have a regular movie night (including tuck, of course),  chef’s evenings, discos and ball games on the floodlit Astroturf.

Our fully-trained residential Matron is a constant presence, always ready to provide plasters and a sympathetic ear. She is also responsible for maintaining the highest standards of healthcare and hygiene. Each child has a form teacher who takes care of their pastoral needs and each week teaches them in Personal and Social Education.

Because class sizes are small, staff  know each child on an individual basis and understand how a small problem can appear insurmountable to a child. They always welcome communication with parents.
